Sadly I missed the opening night of San Francisco’s West Wave Dance Festival (I’m returning from Santa Barbara tomorrow). I’ll post some commentary on the Saturday and Thursday shows here, and I’ll cover the July 31 performance for the San Francisco Chronicle. In the meantime, let me steer Bay Area dance folks to
Allan Ulrich’s
Voice of Dance review. West Wave is the anchor of the Bay Area’s summer dance schedule and, as Allan writes, “a generally accurate bellwether of what’s happening in the local dance scene, a place where discoveries are occasionally made.” For another take on Wednesday’s show, check out Janice Berman’s write-up in the Chronicle.
